The Chinese Lanterns at the Botanical Garden

This year, on top of the plant sculptures there was the annual nightly Chinese lantern shows!

Before you continue on though you should definitely check out the sculptures before because there's going to be a quiz at the end and you could win a million dollars. Not because of the quiz but who knows, you COULD win a million dollars somehow. Don't ask me how. Go read these and come back:

Now that you've checked out the daytime attractions, here's what thousands upon thousands of mouthbreathers had shown up to get a look at!

This is what the lanterns look like during the day. Just regular ole paper sculptures. I have to question the wisdom of making a decorative fire-lit object out of paper but I'm not an asian genius so who knows!

The entrance to the Chinese garden during the day. WOW IMAGINE HOW GOOD THIS WOULD LOOK IN THE DARK. Just stunning. Too bad I have no pictures.

Now at night time! This be a lion sculpture. Not really a lantern. That's about the kind of picture quality a shitty samsung phone gives you at night. You might be wondering why I am dumping this crap onto you right now. Well the reason is that I hate you more than anything in the world.

Given how shitty my camera is, I think I did a pretty decent job with this one! It's quite eerie to see this in the darkness. It would be quite nice if there weren't 2000 other people standing next to us...

The edge of the central building at night. The grainyness in the sky is due to the clouds and not the picture quality of my camera I swear.

Little break here as we got inside the building to recover from the evil nightly chills while learning about the many diverse cultures of China.

They had their own gift shop. I'm not gonna lie, I was tempted by one of these ridiculous masks. Man it's insane how gift shops make you want to spend money.

Ok again I will reiterate: My camera is not shitty, it's just that these lanterns are alive and move extremely fast, ok?
